Bicycle Trailers by Tony Hoar: Options. Bicycle trailers of all kinds: grocery-getters, cargo trailers, kayak trailers, dog trailers and innovative vehicles for the disabled.

Standard Soft Hitch: Our standard hitch with all models and fits all seatposts. Quiet and smooth, the industrial "indestructiblequot; belting that surrounds your seatpost becomes more pliable with use, provides full articulation, and moderate resistance to overturning. (For greater resistance to overturning, see the optional U Hitch, below.)

Heavy-duty hitch: Lowers the centre of gravity and distributes the load in part to the rear axle. For custom-built cargo trailers capable of hauling more than 150 pounds. (Maximum hauled weight is limited by the rider's strength and the bike's brakes, not the hitch's or the trailer's capacity.) The price of this hitch in included in the cost of the trailers that require it.

Quick-release handle: For storage, bus travel, etc. Disconnects the handle from the trailer for easy storage. Once optional, the quick-release handle is now standard on W, KD and D models and not available on the EC model.

Alloy wheels: Our 20" alloy wheels are lighter, stronger, more stable, and capable of handling heavier loads. A quick-release makes them a snap to change. These wheels are available for the W model. See the comparison chart for prices. In addition, our custom trailers can be ordered with a variety of wheel/tire combinations, including these alloy wheels and the quick-release feature.

Optional "U" Hitch: This extra-cost hitch is tough and rubber-padded to protect your seat post and paint. It attaches and detaches in a snap, and is adjustable for fit and difficult to overturn. (Note: if you let your bike fall when stationary, it could overturn the trailer and/or cause damage.) When ordering the U-Hitch you need to tell us your seat post diameter: just measure it with a measuring tape. Comes with tubular plastic height stabilizer (shown) and safety cable (not shown).

Newspaper carrier bracket: The paper carrier places a quantity of papers here for quick access, and replenishes from the main bin when needed. Bracket only, basket not included. (Soft drink shipping containers work well as newspaper baskets!) The bracket can be retrofitted to an existing trailer: it bolts on easily.

Foam-padded hand grips: These make for more comfortable pulling of your trailer into your home, or around supermarket aisles and through checkouts. Once optional, the foam grip is now standard on W, KD and D models and not available on the EC model.
